Mellowdrone will be releasing second album Angry Bear (Coming Home) August 25. After the ups and downs the California band has experienced in the last few years—including great success with 2006 debut Box, then being dropped by Columbia in 2007—Angry Bear is a long time coming. It was mostly recorded live at a friend’s house, resulting in what frontman Jonathan Bates calls “a perfect snapshot of imperfection.” The catchy, Franz Ferdinand-esque “Elephant” is below, and Bates can also be found playing guitar with M83 and Monsters Are Waiting.
