Nobody says “I Hope You Die” in a less threatening manner than Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak on the Baltimore duo’s latest single. “I Hope You Die” is layered with keys and dreamy vocals, so the title is somewhat misleading in relation to the pretty arrangements. The real hatred is found in Wasner’s lyrics, though her tone is more melancholy than enraged. Wye Oak just digitally released the My Neighbor/My Creator EP via Merge (CD copies are out in June) and is currently on a nationwide tour in support of the new material.
