Felix Cartal’s debut album, Popular Music (released via Dim Mak in March), is so popular that he’s extending his tour until late August. Cartal collaborated with multiple guests on the LP, including Johnny Whitney (Blood Brothers) and Todd Fink (Faint), who add their talent and techniques to Cartal’s distinctive-yet-catchy beats. On “Word Class Driver,” remixed by Keatch (a 23-year-old Belgian DJ), he and Cartal create hard, head-bopping beats made to rave and rage above a fuzzy background with bottomless vocals.
