NYC electro-pop duo Holy Ghost!, named after the subdued Christian expletive, just released its dance-inducing self-titled debut (on DFA), coinciding with its national tour with Cut Copy. It’s hard to believe that while the bandmates Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel have known each other since grade school and have been performing and cutting tracks for several years with the likes of Moby and LCD Soundsystem, this is only their first album. “Wait & See” sounds like it was siphoned from the playlist of an ’80s nightclub and performed by Phoenix. Synth heavy and blippy, the song packs a full arsenal of electronic instrumental bliss and pleasant vocals, enough to provoke an excited nondenominational expletive of your own.
