On October 11, Mom + Pop Records is releasing Andrew Bird’s soundtrack to the indie film Norman, which will see its theatrical release starting October 21. This is Bird’s first movie score and includes new songs from him as well as Wolf Parade, Chad VanGaalen and the Blow With Richard Swift … In memory of late MAGNET friend Jason DiEmilio, Rocket Girl Records is releasing an Azusa Plane retrospective, Where The Sands Turn To Gold, on October 29. It includes rare mp3s, previously unreleased interviews and live tracks as well as an expansive booklet … R.E.M.’s  40-song retrospective, R.E.M, Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982-2011, is out November 15 via Warner Bros. The record caps off the band’s 31-year run … This year marks the 50th anniversary of when the Beatles first walked into a recording studio, and now those initial recordings will be made available for the first time. The Beatles With Tony Sheridan: First Recordings, 50th Anniversary Edition will see the light of day November 8 via Time Life … Chris Cornell has announced fall and winter dates to continue his acoustic Songbook tour. A live album from the previous legs of the tour, Songbook, will be out November 21 via UME … The Dead Science’s Sam Mickens is set to issue his debut solo full-length on November 22 via Shatter Your Leaves. Slay & Slake features guest appearances from Craig Wedren and MF Grimm as well as remixes by Deerhoof and Pictureplane … The eponymous debut album from the new Troy Stewart project, the Windsor Player, will be released on October 11. Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, Richard Coburn and more were all recruited by Stewart to work on the LP … November 22 will see the U.S. issue of Willie Nile’s new album, The Innocent Ones … Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced the November 15 release of God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, a film that explores the life and career of former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne … Both seasons of the Monkees’ eponymous television show were just made available by Eagle Rock Entertainment as two separate boxed sets.
