Forceful bass lines immediately direct your attention to the U.K. experimental rockers in Zun Zun Egui. Scaling electric guitars send “Fandango Fresh” into a cacophony of liberated rhythms from all over the musical spectrum, not leaving any sort of clue that this group actually hails from Bristol. It’s a stop-and-go energetic song that shows off technical skill and control, being able to speed things up and slow it all down with layers of assorted instruments over David Byrne-styled vocals. The group’s debut album, Katang, drops November 8 via Bella Union.
