MP3 At 3PM: Thee American Revolution

Robert Schneider, the musical genius who’s reinvented himself more times over the past 20 years than the chief idea-man for a major kids’ cereal company, has done it again. Paired with Craig Morris as Thee American Revolution, the Apples In Stereo guru has captured on tape what is certainly the most fuzz-drenched song ever recorded. (Even the drum track has enough fuzzed-out havoc to choke the average house cat.) If “Blow My Mind” (from debut LP Buddha Electrostorm, out now on Fire records) is an homage to the Great American Psychedelic Revolution, it’s been done by people who grew up worshipping R.E.M., with plenty of help from the local purveyor of mind-altering substances—after a lumberjack breakfast of Trix, Count Chocula and Froot Loops, all in the same bowl, sprinkled with sugar, then drowned in chocolate milk.
