From The Desk Of The Mary Onettes: Lando Calrissian General Pilot Action Figure

MaryOnettesHit The Waves (Labrador) is the new album from the Mary Onettes. It’s the long-awaited third full-length from the Gothenburg, Sweden, quartet, and it largely abandons the soaring pop that was the band’s hallmark on its 2007 self-titled debut and 2009’s Islands. Those albums earned the quartet comparisons to the Cure and Echo & The Bunnymen, although polished with a modern synth-pop sheen. Hit The Waves draws likewise from the ’80s, but instead of tuneful post-punk, it deliberately echoes some less trendy sources. The Mary Onettes—brothers Philip and Henrik Ekström, Petter Agurén and Simon Fransson—will be guest editing magnet magazine.co all week. Read our brand new feature on them.

LandoCalrissian

Philip Ekström: This is one of my favorite Star Wars figures from my personal collection. I collect Star Wars vintage toys (1977-1985), and this figure is one the first action figures I got from my parents, probably around 1985 or so. I no longer have that one. But I bought it again on eBay and this time it’s on card and will stay unpunched. This Lando outfit can be seen in the SW movie Return Of The Jedi when Lando is the general pilot for the Millennium Falcon in the space battle. His co-pilot is Nien Nunb.

This action figure is part of the Power Of The Force figures. It’s also called “the last 17” and was the last 17 figures that was made within the collection. They are highly more valuable than the others.
