After two LPs of scabrous crust severity, Coliseum realized it had taken its soul-devouring sound as far as it possibly could. The trio’s latest single, “Blind In One Eye,” finds the Louisville, Ky., outfit continuing to push forward by replacing neck-snapping tempos and D-beats with melodies and textures akin to the back catalog of Touch And Go Records. For upcoming album House With A Curse (Temporary Residence), guitarist Ryan Patterson adopted a regimented songwriting approach by cloistering himself in his house for six months and spending eight to 10 hours a day working on songs.
